As a result, we officially opened our brand-new Technical Training Centre in Warwick earlier today. Dedicated to educating and upskilling RCV drivers and crews, the new facility will help customers derive significantly more value from their vehicles by offering in-depth instruction on the correct methods of operation, safe working procedures, preventative maintenance, and more.
We’ve joined forces with Terberg Matec UK to provide this specialised training across our broad portfolio of products from a single, centralised location. Just a 2-minute walk from our headquarters, the 4,900m2 unit on Heathcote Way houses multiple interactive spaces, a practical area, a display area, and a customer handover space.
A dedicated hub for customers and employees to enhance their knowledge of the company’s industry-leading technologies, safety features, and vehicles, the Technical Training Centre gives learners important hands-on experience across our entire range of RCVs, specialist recycling vehicles, and bin lift systems. Courses provided at the centre promise to seamlessly blend a combination of practical and theoretical content, with bespoke testing rigs and equipment aligned specifically to the course material.
“This evolutionary approach to training is a critical change for the future of our business,” said Geoff Rigg, Aftermarket Director, Dennis Eagle. “The combination of expert-led theory with hands-on practical experience creates impactful, long-lasting value for our customers and ensures their operators have the confidence to apply what they learn during their daily collection rounds.
“By centralising our training offering at the new Technical Training Centre, customers gain the benefit of having both Dennis Eagle and Terberg Matec UK technical expertise completely at their disposal. Our unrivalled industry knowledge and firmly established heritage means there is no one better placed to provide effective, enduring, high-quality training that helps develop sector-leading engineers.”
Alongside the Technical Training Centre, the new facility will also help to support the business’ growing operations in the UK by increasing operational capacity. This includes an area of the building devoted to the inspection and handover of vehicles to customers, ensuring the RCV build meets their full requirements.
“The newly opened facility provides the footprint and scope to help bolster our growing operations and further enhance our customer proposition,” said Keith Day, Managing Director, Dennis Eagle. “As well as increasing the space required to support production growth, it will allow us to showcase our world-class vehicle capability through interactive presentations, practical activities, and engaging environments, enabling customers to get hands-on with our products in a safe and controlled way. With an experience centre ideal for vehicle handovers and several areas dedicated solely to training, the expansion will act as an essential step forward in improving practical product knowledge and safety awareness among our customers and staff.”
The building has also become the new home of our Aftermarket and HR teams. “The move to our newly refurbished, freshly decorated facility marks an exciting new beginning for our Aftermarket team,” said Geoff. “The team is settling nicely into its new office space and is already making good use of our brand-new Service Managers meeting room. Designed to foster growth and innovative thinking, this space will allow new ideas to take shape, collaboration to thrive, and our people to come together as one team.”
In addition to the exceptional in-person learning experience made possible by the new Technical Training Centre, all-important operator instruction is now offered via an easy-to-use online eLearning portal, at no cost to the customer. This digital platform offers operators a wealth of advantages to the face-to-face alternative, with instant, on-demand access to the latest course content, full traceability for fleet managers, and a seamless transition from initial RCV delivery to almost instantaneous operation.
“We’re passionate about ensuring our customers receive their training in the most convenient and efficient way possible,” said Alice McCabe, Training and Development Officer at Dennis Eagle. “Having a digital option available for operator instruction means this portion of the training programme becomes immediately more accessible and flexible, allowing customers to complete it at their own pace. For the more complex and specialised technical training modules, our Technical Training Centre is the ideal face-to-face solution.”
The new Technical Training Centre enables customers to gain even greater value from their vehicles and systems, building confidence among drivers and crews and ensuring safe working practices are always adhered to.
