Central to our operations and one of our business’ core values, we know just how critical sustainability is to a cleaner, greener future. As a leader in the waste and recycling industry, we firmly believe it is our responsibility to help the next generation understand the importance of sustainability and the increasingly pressing need to minimise our environmental impact.
To achieve this as effectively as possible, we recently converted one of our RCVs into a brand-new mobile classroom in support of our Sustainable Schools programme, dubbed ‘Dennis to the Rescue’. Built specifically to raise greater awareness about sustainability and offer students a suitable setting to learn more about the environment, the truck received a colourful, vibrant vinyl wrap as well as impressive new features such as a plug-and-play interactive TV, colour-changing lighting, plush seating, a fridge, and solar power to create a comfortable and engaging educational space.
“We’re extremely proud of what we’ve managed to accomplish with our Dennis to the Rescue Sustainable Schools programme,” said Lee Rowland, Sales and Marketing Manager, Dennis Eagle. “The mobile classroom has proven to be a huge hit among our customers and local schools alike, giving them an ideal platform to effectively educate students about sustainability, a topic that is growing in importance and relevance by the day.”
As well as partnering with Oxford Specialist Coachbuilders Limited and Creative Vehicle Wrapping to make the mobile classroom’s design come to life, we also worked closely with SKIPS Educational to offer students a truly immersive educational experience. Specialists in providing impactful learning resources for schools, SKIPS Educational has produced a dedicated Dennis to the Rescue booklet, various colouring activities, and a compelling recycling presentation, all of which aim to improve students’ understanding of their role in caring for the environment. These resources are available to access in addition to the classroom hire.
Since its initial launch, Dennis to the Rescue has been a very busy truck and is already in high demand, with its calendar for the remainder of 2025 full. Throughout July and August alone, the mobile classroom visited multiple schools and councils across the country, including:
Truly a modern-day learning hub for recycling and waste management, Dennis to the Rescue is turning heads all over the UK in its bid to promote the significance of sustainability and help students better understand how we can all contribute to a greener planet. It’s possible our mobile classroom could soon end up at a school or a council near you, so keep your eyes peeled for the opportunity to educate, inform, and help protect our planet.
