Not long after Manvik Plant & Hire Ltd first opened its doors in Northern Ireland, a firm and long-lasting partnership was formed with Dennis Eagle. A trusted, dedicated agent supporting all 11 council areas within the region, Manvik is truly a one-stop shop for everything RCV – facilitating the ongoing maintenance and servicing of Dennis Eagle’s innovative and industry-leading portfolio of chassis, bodies, and bin lifts.
“Generally speaking, Dennis Eagle RCVs are the go-to choice for our Northern Ireland customers,” said Alan Haire, Director, Manvik Plant & Hire Ltd. “As a partnership, we work incredibly closely to ensure we’re delivering whatever our customers need, regardless of their requirements. Since the integration of Dennis Eagle and Terberg Matec UK’s Sales and Aftermarket teams, we’ve been enabled to offer even more streamlined support and end-to-end services across the whole breadth of their RCV product range.”
Recent orders for the latter half of this year include Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, who have requested four new Elite+ 6x2 rear-steer chassis with Olympus 19 Narrow bodies and an OmniDEKA bin lift. Manvik will also be working with Lisburn and Castlereagh to deliver four new Elite+ 6x4 chassis with Olympus 23 bodies and OmniDEKA electric bin lifts following the delivery of several of these vehicles earlier in the year. Similarly, Ards and North Down are soon expecting a further three Elite+ 6x2 mid-steer chassis with Olympus 23 bodies and OmniDEKA electric bin lifts after adding new vehicles to their fleet at the very start of 2026.
Over the past few years for our Northern Ireland customers, the tendency has largely been towards 6x4 vehicles, however there is now a growing demand for rear-steer RCVs to enhance manoeuvrability as well as an increased interest in electric bin lifts to help meet sustainability targets. One thing is certain – the selection of vehicles is becoming ever more diverse across the region.
While the tendering process for Northern Ireland is retained by the Dennis Eagle team in Warwick, Manvik’s services are critical to ensuring the smooth delivery and consistent upkeep of local authority fleets across the country. Offering essential aftersales services such as RCV fleet inspections, warranties, refurbishments and repairs, MOTs, and LOLER inspections, Manvik is fully equipped to provide customers with thorough and attentive local support.
“Wherever possible, we try to ensure fixes can be done over the phone to minimise downtime for the customer, as many councils in the area have their own facilities for routine maintenance,” added Alan. “With a keen eye on diagnostics across our customers’ RCV fleets, we can determine what can be resolved quickly in the field and what requires a more substantial, hands-on approach from our base in Belfast.”
“We have had a long relationship with Manvik, having previously engaged Manvik technicians to carry out all maintenance in our workshops,” said Jeff Shaw, Transport Manager, Ards and North Down Borough Council. “Manvik has always been there for us, and nothing is ever a problem. The service we receive is exemplary; the team is always at the end of the phone to offer all the advice we request for our fleet of refuse collection vehicles. Dennis Eagle is equally easy to work with. Our technicians and operatives are highly trained on their vehicles and are happy with the product, particularly the flat-floored cab with low entry. Our workshop stores have a dedicated section to Dennis Eagle, with a stock of parts that keeps our fleet on the road.”
Manvik’s highly experienced team currently consists of workshop technicians, parts specialists, and senior leadership members, all of whom are committed to finding the best possible solutions to fulfil the changing demands of Northern Ireland’s waste and recycling sector.

We will be attending RTX Northern Ireland this April alongside several Manvik experts, accompanied by an Elite+ 6x4 RCV with a Terberg OmniDEKA-E electric bin lift. Exhibiting on Stand E50, this knowledgeable team will be on hand to discuss our industry-leading range of RCVs and game-changing bin lift solutions.
“We’re looking forward to joining Manvik at RTX Northern Ireland and having the opportunity to connect with our Northern Irish customers face-to-face,” said Adam Robins, General Sales Manager, Dennis Eagle. “We’ve seen a big demand in recent years for electric bin lifts driven by imminent sustainability objectives, so we’re excited to continue promoting the many benefits of the OmniDEKA-E at the show, from reduced carbon emissions to improved operational efficiency.”
